This release includes an important fix for the updated GeoJSON/CSV importer introduced in v4.9, which resulted in marker updates not being applied correctly. Furthermore we also modernized the default popup design, amongst some further optimisations and bugfixes.
An updated to the latest version is – as always – highly recommended.
Now let´s get to the highlights of this release:
modernize popup design
We modernized the default popup design to use more available space, remove unneeded separators and to better align scrollbars.

Further customisation is always possible by using custom CSS in your theme´s style.css.
fix importer update mode not working
With v4.9 we introduced an enhanced importer, supporting GeoJSON and CSV as input files. Unfortunately we missed a bug which resulted in markers not being updated correctly when using update mode – this is now fixed with v4.9.1, sorry for any inconvenience caused!
display map loading message
On slow internet connections, map may take a while to load. In order to make clear for users, that a map will load, we added a map loading text, which is briefly displayed before the map gets initialized:
Other changes and bugfixes
- localize dates
- set permalink slug to “mmp” by default (for new installations only, to prevent issues with e.g. pages or post also using /maps as slug)
- flush rewrite rules after changing permalink slug in settings
Thanks to 100+ translators this release also includes some update translations, see full changelog for details.
