Pro-Version Releases
Attention: this is not the changelog for the latest stable version 4.29.1 (see related release notes)

With version 4.2 we are very happy to announce a new partnership with LocationIQ.com as major highlight.

LocationIQ offers affordable, scalable and reliable location services since 2013. They serve 50k+ developers who make 2 billion+ requests each day. Their geocoding service can now also be used within Maps Marker Pro after signing up for an access token (tutorial).

Additional new features and improvements of v4.2:

add option to show track description

If your gpx track includes a description you can now display this text within the popup of the track by enabling the new option “description” (advanced editor needs to be enabled):

add rte fallback if no trk found in GPX file

Another GPX optimiziation we added with v4.2 is support for rte GPX files. Strictly speaking rte actually represents a route – an ordered list of waypoints representing a series of turn points leading to a destination, while trk represents a track – an ordered list of points describing a path.

Nevertheless many GPX systems seem to create rte GPX files by default nevertheless and those we not shown when adding those files to a map. So we built a workaround to also show GPX tracks on maps, if the GPX file consists of rte elements only.

update markers on map when search is done in list of markers

The search in the action bar above the list of markers has also been optimized: if you start a search, you not only get the corresponding results in the list of markers but now also only see the related markers on the map and not all markers like before.

add custom map shortcode attribute

Due to customer feedback we also added support for a new shortcode attribute which allows you to dynamically show only certain markers on a previously created map, example: [mapsmarker custom="1" markers="1, 2, 3"]

optimize marker logic to work with keyboard

With v4.2 we also improved the accessibility by optimizing the marker logic to better work with keyboard inputs. E.g. when tabbing down to the marker titles in the list of markers, the links should will now open the popup when enter is pressed.

Anyway please be aware that the leaflet.js framework is generally not fully ADA compliant though.

throttle resize functions for better performance

We also improved the performance for maps, especially when a resize is performed. This should result in more performance especially on low-end devices.

An update to the latest version is – as always – highly recommended.
